Chimiba, Chimica Industriale Dott. Balsano, was established in 1970 as an applied research laboratory to help the meat industry find adequate solutions to some important hygiene-health issues. One of the most important of these problems is the decontamination and the reduction of bacterial cells on the surface of meats. During slaughtering, these cells contain hazardous substances and germs that are considered difficult to eliminate and to such an extent that they are defined by the same industry as "technologically inevitable".
(Those working in this profession are very familiar with these problems because they have a significant effect on the slaughtering economy, especially in terms of the food quality and safety of the finished product). Among the products with industrial applications that Chimiba develops within the framework of research carried out in collaboration with the quality managers of some important companies in the sector, the market rewards and favours a process coadjutant called "SAN-PEL®"; (healthy skin).
Experiments have demonstrated, for the very first time, that SAN-PEL® completely decontaminates the surface of meats in a harmless manner, removing and eliminating all hygienically undesirable chemical and bacterial substances from such meats, without affecting the food and without leaving any harmful residues.
The favourable consensus of qualified scientific and industrial opinions for this new product has been supported by an exceptional fact: recognition by the competent health authorities. After nine years of tests and institutional controls on the harmlessness and effectiveness, the competent health authorities have recognised SAN-PEL® as being suitable for use and have authorised its use in meat production and processing activities. Thus, finally, the first and only product has been developed whitc is absolutely effective in the world market and AUTHORISED by the competent health authorities to come in direct contact with meats. In 1990, Chimiba made the necessary industrial adjustments to produce and supply the SAN-PEL® technology and product, along with other just as important products. Applying SAN-PEL® when slaughtering meat from all types of animals ensures the highest possible food safety in complete compliance with legal and industrial efficiency standards.
